Participate in the important questions of our time. The Forum is a conversation and speaker series that brings people together to explore challenges and opportunities that affect human flourishing through the lens of the humanities and civic imagination.
Please join us for the May 30, 2023 gathering of The Forum featuring Federico Rios. Federico is Senior Vice President of the Robinson Center for Civic Leadership, where he engages community-minded individuals to address the Charlotte area's greatest challenges and to capitalize on our most impactful opportunities.
Throughout his career, Federico has helped lead several equity initiatives for the city of Charlotte, including development of the first equity-in-governance framework, which applies an equity lens to City Council’s policy decisions. He also helped departments prioritize equity in budget requests, oversaw several grant programs and directed critical research initiatives, such as the New American Economy’s New Americans in Charlotte research study. He has served as a program director for Communities In Schools Charlotte-Mecklenburg and also on various boards, including as a former member of the Leading on Opportunity council.
Connect. Consider. Ignite. The program runs from 7:00 PM to 9:00 PM including time for conversation, connections, and Q&A.
The Forum has a three-part structure:
• First third: Participants connect and build relationships in small break-out groups prompted by a question;
• Middle third: Participants consider a presentation that ends with the speaker posing a community-facing question;
• Final third: Participants discuss the question, igniting new ideas and interactions.
